Cardboard: Food boxes, boxes, beer and soda flats, grocery bags No wax or plastic covered cardboard Clean, dry, collapsed
Newspapers & Magazines Newsprint, inserts No food contamination Dry and tied in bundles, or in bags
Mixed Paper: Office paper, junk mail, cards No food contamination, plastic packaging, waxed cartons Dry, and collapsed in bags or boxes
Glass: Clear, brown, blue and green bottles No light bulbs, ovenware, pane glass, or ceramics Discard lids, sort by color,
Rinse thoroughly.
Steel Cans: All metal food cans No food residues, paint, or aerosols Remove food, liquids, and labels. Rinse thoroughly.
Alum. Cans: Beer and soda cans No foil containers or aluminum foil. Remove liquids.
Rinse thoroughly.
Plastics: All type 1 & 2 milk, soda, water, juice, bleach laundry.
Threaded bottles only.
No bags, flower pots, motor oil, solvent, paint, or pesticide containers. Must have a Type 1 or 2 on bottom of container. Rinse thoroughly.
Motor Oil:     Must be leak proof container with lid.
Batteries (Rechargeable) Cell phone, smoke detector, flashlight, car, boat   No prep needed
Computers, TV.s, VCRs, Fax Machines: No charge for towers or keyboards   $10 charge per screen
Cell phones: Any model   no charge

A household Chemical Facility is also available for FREE disposal of residential chemicals from Taney County residents. Materials accepted includes, oil-based paints, kerosene, pesticides, herbicides, cleaners, spa chemicals, fluorescent tubes, sharps, etc. No Latex Paint. (Call for information on proper disposal.) For an appointment to drop off materials, call 337-8566.

O'Reilly Automotive stores take used car batteries and motor oil.

Tin, aluminum, glass and plastics are accepted at a recycling center located at the County maintenance facility in Forsyth.
